Mark Dahn was born in 1956 and has lived most of his life in Seattle, Washington. He comes from a family of professional artists, all living and working in the Pacific Northwest.
Mark's background begins in his early teens when he began studying jewelry making. He has worked since 1980 as a full-time jewelry designer. In 1989 Mark started his own buisness, Eclipse Jewelry Design, designing and manufacturing a wildlife jewelry line of over 30 different species.
With a desire to work in a larger scale, Mark began casting bronze sculpture in 1997 and sculpting in stone shortly thereafter. In the last few years Mark has focused on sculpture exclusively, exploring the possibilities not only of bronze and stone, but ceramics, wood, along with forged and welded steel as well. Essentially self-taught in the different mediums, Mark believes the truth in the statement, "All sculptors are students, the learning never ends."
